Hope & Shine: Every Child Deserves a Chance to Shine
The Hope & Shine Programme is one of the flagship community initiatives of The Stage and Beyond Trust. Working primarily with children from Kibera and neighbouring communities, the programme creates opportunities for young people to discover their potential in a safe, supportive and inspiring environment.
Through education, mentorship and the performing arts, children develop confidence, creativity, leadership and life skills while preparing for a brighter future.

Why Hope & Shine?
Through theatre, music and creative expression, participants develop discipline, teamwork, resilience and confidence while learning skills that prepare them for life beyond the stage.
The programme's impact was powerfully demonstrated through Disney's The Lion King Jr., where participants performed alongside children from diverse schools and communities across Nairobi. The production celebrated talent, strengthened friendships and demonstrated how community theatre can unite children, families and communities regardless of social or economic background.
